Tournament Scenarios
The aim is for each scenario to be balanced on scoring with each other, so that every scenario can score:
Maximum available VP on the table of 7
Highest possible winning VP is 7
Highest possible draw VP is 3
Highest losing VP is 3
Highest winning VP with the Highest losing VP scoring 3 is 4
Round 1
Objective Scenario: Salt The Earth
No change to scenario from the book
Before rolling off to choose sides, place one Objective Marker in the exact centre of the board and then the players take it in turns placing Objective Markers until both players have each placed three Objective Markers. Roll off to see who places the first Objective.
After a player has completed their Turn, they can choose to destroy any Objective Markers which they control (except for the Central Objective). Repeat this process at the end of each of the player’s Turns until the end of the game. Destroyed Objective Markers are removed from play and have no influence on the rest of the game.
Victory Points are awarded at the end of the game as follows:
1 Victory Point for each Objective Marker still in play that you control.
Round 2
Token Scenario: Plunder
No change to scenario from the book
Before rolling off to choose sides, place 5 Loot Counters on the centre line of the board. One must be placed in the exact centre of the board (or as close to it along the centre line as possible). The remaining four Counters are then placed along the centre line 12" away from each other (or as close to this distance as possible). After choosing sides, starting with the player who chose their side first, each player nominates a (different) Loot Counter which will be worth 2 Victory Points. These two counters are referred to as Primary Loot Counters.
Victory Points are awarded at the end of the game as follows:
1 Victory Point for each Loot Counter you hold.
2 Victory Points for each Primary Loot Counter you hold.
Round 3
Area Scenario: Hold the Line
The middle 12" (6" from each side from centre line scores)
At the end of the game, divide the board into three 2'x1' rectangles straddling the centre line (6" from each side from centre line).
The middle 12" (6" from each side from centre line scores).
Add up the total Unit Strength of each player's units within a rectangle. If a unit is straddling the line between two rectangles it is considered to be in whichever rectangle is covered by the majority of its base. If there is no clear majority, the owning player must choose which rectangle the unit is in.
The player who has the highest Unit Strength in each rectangle controls it.
Victory Points are awarded at the end of the game as follows:
3 Victory Points if you hold the rectangle in the middle.
2 Victory Point for each other rectangle you hold.
Round 4
Bounty Scenario: Kill (Kill & Eliminate) - Reaper Variant
Each player has 1 Bounty Token they must place on their Reaper model
Additionally, place an Objective Marker in the exact centre of the board.
Victory Points are awarded at the end of the game as follows:
2 Victory Points for killing opponents bounty unit in Melee phase or 1 Victory Point for killing opponents bounty unit in Shooting phase
1 Victory Point if your bounty units that are still alive
1 Victory Point for holding the Objective Marker
Add up the points cost of the routed enemy units. Your opponent does the same and you compare scores.
If the difference between the scores in favour of a player is
10% or more of the total cost of the army, that player gains 1 Victory Points,
if 20% or more 2 Victory Points, or
if 30% or more 3 Victory Points
i.e in a game with 3,000pts a side, a score difference of 300pts-599pts = 1 Victory Point, 600pts-899pts = 2 Victory Points, or 900pts or more = 3 Victory Points.
Round 5
Escalation Scenario: Beat the Titan
Place the Scenario Reaper Titan in the exact centre of the board.
If your units are engaged with the Scenario Reaper Titan you cannot shoot the Scenario Reaper Titan.
At end of combat phase all your units in combat are considered disengaged, and can perform a standard withdrawal 1 inch away from the reaper.
Victory Points are awarded as follows:
Rounds 1-6: After each round add up the Unit Strength of all your units that have the majority of their footprint within 9" of the Titan and add this score to the damage done caused by you to the Scenario Reaper Titan that round, the person that scored the most gains 1 Victory Point, in event of a tie neither players gets a Victory Point for that round.
Round 7 (if rolled): No Victory Points for damaging the Scenario Reaper Titan this round
At end of game, add up the Unit Strength of all your units that have the majority of their footprint within 9" of the Titan, the winner gains 1 Victory Point.
